Bil Bowdish (Billy Lewis)
Bil grew up on Long Island, New York in the 50s and 60s. After high school, he moved to Boston to attend Northeastern University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering degree but turned to public education for his career. He lived in the Boston area for all of his teaching career and earned his Master’s Degree in Computer Education at Plymouth State University, Plymouth, NH. About one-half of his career was spent teaching middle school math while the rest was spent teaching high school math, with most of his time in Sharon, Massachusetts. His major math interests lie in discrete mathematics, statistics, and pre-calculus, as well as using technology appropriately. After retiring from teaching, Bil renewed his interest in music and now performs mostly near his home in Florida.
Bil began to learn flute in the 4th grade. He began his study of saxophone in 10th grade and has been covering vocals for the last 20 years as well. He played in the high school band and orchestra and dance band as well. While still in college, he joined the Marsels, a high energy top 40 band and remained with them for 16 years. His retirement from teaching high school math allowed him to rejoin the music scene. Since then, he has been fortunate to work with saxophonist Mike DePasquale, vocalists Judy Lynn, Dana Bienvenue, Karen Jones, Diane Lyons and pianist Ted Young. His current musical interests are with Billy Lewis Music, the Billy Lewis Duo and Gulf Drive, which he formed in 2004. He performs as a solo act or a duo as well. His music covers rock and roll from the 50s & 60s, top 40, country, swing and jazz and is for listeners and dancers of all ages. Whether performing as a solo or in a combo, Bil is highly enthusiastic about both his music and his audiences.
Dana Bienvenue
Dana's passion for music began at an early age, performing in talent shows and summer theatre before joining a band, performing in musicals and singing The National Anthem at sporting events. While living in New England, she was part of the NH All-State Choir's alto section for two years, and later joined the Portland Symphony Orchestra annually for The Magic of Christmas annual event. While living in Denver, she became the lead vocalist for DCXpress Band and upon relocating to Florida, she has been actively performing in duos in venues from Punta Gorda to Tampa. Dana is also the lead vocalist for the southern rock group, Jack'd Up.
