Jazz Fest
Thanks to all who made the Oldies Beach Dance and Jazz Fest an overwhelming success. Unfortunately, the pandemic scrubbed plans for February and March of 2021, but we expect to be back next year with another exciting show!
For those of you who have attended in the past or are new to Jazz Fest, we’ll again be heading over to the Sandbar Restaurant Wedding Pavilion on the beach in Anna Maria. We start at 3 and wrap things up around 5.
Koko Ray on Two Saxes! In addition to the Gulf Drive Duo, with Diane Lyons on vocals and Billy Lewis on vocals, flutes and saxes, we’ll welcome back Koko Ray as one of our guest soloists. Koko is an outstanding vocalist and plays two saxes at the same time! He has been a Jazz Fest guest performer for many years and always presents a first-class performance.
Matt Coates This year, we are also fortunate to have Matt Coates return as a guest soloist. Matt is a local vocalist and keyboardist from Bradenton. He works at many of the finer country clubs, restaurants and private parties in our area. Matt sings and plays a full variety of music from the 40s to 2000s. It should be a great show.
Around the first of the year, Jazz Fest tickets will be available online at the Anna Maria Island Concert Chorus and Orchestra web site or by contacting the AMI Chamber of Commerce, 5313 Gulf Drive, Holmes Beach. After music expenses, all proceeds go to the Anna Maria Island Concert Chorus and Orchestra.
Looking further down the road, the Oldies Beach Dance is will take place in March at the same location and time. We are thrilled to have the same talented guest soloists as we do for Jazz Fest. Bring your dancin’ shoes to the Oldies Beach Dance!
